Traditional artistry is revisited through the modern design codes of the time-only Extra Plat collection, where the depth and intensity of the black gilt dial are balanced by the warmth of 5N rose gold.
Crafted on a solid-gold base, each dial undergoes multiple stages of artistry to create contrasts between deep-black surfaces and exposed-gold indications. The result is a dial that creates shifting reflections and a pronounced three-dimensional effect.
REINTERPRETING A CLASSIC TECHNIQUE
The Extra Plat Rose Gold Gilt revisits a rare dial-making technique in which the Roman numerals, signature, and individual number are not applied to the surface, but revealed from the solid gold base beneath.
Through successive stages of masking, electroplating, and finishing, the dial develops its deep black tone while preserving the gold indications. The resulting construction creates a subtle layering effect, with the markings appearing embedded within the dial itself.
The gilt dial displays two distinct hand-executed guilloché patterns: straight-line or pinstripe engraving across the base and a circular Filet sauté guilloché all around the chapter ring, together shaping its reflections and depth.
Combined with the warmth of the 5N rose gold case, these elements create a shifting interplay of light, texture, and contrast that defines the character of the Extra Plat Rose Gold Gilt.

The Extra Plat Rose Gold Gilt is powered by the Calibre DR002, where all 143 components of the manual-winding movement are visible through the open caseback.
Everything is crafted in-house. From the defined inner angles to the extensive bevelling, each finish reflects a dedicated approach to high watchmaking. Several days of dedicated work are required per movement, with signature DANIEL ROTH finishes such as Côtes de Genève, perlage, and étirage des flancs.
Refined and discreet yet finished to the highest standards, the movement balances exceptional craftsmanship with understated horological elegance.
